The original Henrietta was a chicken.

The current boat Henrietta has been renamed twice – it’s brought no bad luck, and lots of good luck! In June 2015, when newly owned by me, “Henrietta”  was  called “Baltic Amber II” and before that, when based in Italy, “Poema”.

She is named Henrietta” in honour of family ancestry – because our family has been associated with other “Henriettas” in the past.

– Henrietta (1956): was the very first family chicken, a unique and beautiful Rhode Island Red! She was a family pet, strictly, Henrietta I.

– Henrietta II (1959): an open all purpose 12 ft GRP dinghy (on the left below)

– Henrietta III (1965): a Silhouette Mk II, 17ft GRP sailing boat, my father’s first yacht, in those days adequate for five of us plus dog

And so the current Henrietta should really be Henrietta IV
